I here medics all the time stating that “I can’t give pain medications to treat your gut wrenching abdominal pain because it will prevent the doctor from doing their examination and mask symptoms.” Well, this is a bold face lie! As a matter of fact you might even be able to get a BETTER exam done by tking away there tremendous pain and allowing you pin point the pain more precisely.
I understand that we as medics are bound by protocol and will do whatever our medical says to do, just know that this exists and if you get the oppurtunity to treat abdominal pain..DO IT!
